I've been deciding on a few places to travel to next.

1)I was thinking of going to New Zealand (Wellington I believe) where my mom's best friend lives there and I can stay with them for a bit. Then I'll take the LOTR tour which I hear is pretty good and is a good way to check out New Zealand. Then from New Zealand, hop over to Sydney, Australia where I have two friends I can stay with for a bit. Check out the beaches, the opera house; and then if I have time and money fly to the Gold Coast, Melbourne where I can stay with another friend of mine.

-I want to see sheep and kangaroos
-I haven't been to either New Zealand or Australia. The LOTR is just an excuse to do something there Wink

2) My uncle (dad's brother) lives in Dubai, and he keeps insisting I should come down and visit. My family has already been and tell me it's a really nice place. My friends who have been say it's a real party town (it is the most relaxed of the Arab nations politically). But, truth be told, Dubai is not where I really want to go. I'll have fun like I always do, but I found out that it's only a two hour flight from Dubai to Cario, Egypt. Shocked So if I can take the chance to fly to that part of the world and see one of the most amazing wonders created by man, I'm going to do it. I want to see the pyramids. I've been checking for tour information from HK and the flight tickets are pretty pricey. If I fly to a Dubai where I have family, I can save a lot more money. For one, I just fly to Egypt for two days instead of five days for the required full tours. Tours tend to be a waste of time, especially those packages where you spend a week going around in groups. I'd rather go find a way to get the pyramids myself, and check out stuff on my own time.

Like I did with my friend at Pompeii.

- Have been to the Dubai international Airport
- Never been to Egypt or that part of the world so it should be interesting
- I'm literally full of excitment at the idea of seeing the pyramids. Man, for me it's a dream come true. Can't wait!

* Must watch for political situation. Currently the area seems to be having problems again. I'm not safe either. I hold an Indian passport and am technically a hindu, so I have to be just as cautious as Americans and Europeans. Plus, I do have a strong mix of american and british accent. One thing fundamentalist and hardline muslims hate more then white people are 'westernized' middle easterners who are especially liberal and not devout religious followers. Shit, i studied in California and claim it as my second home. Take a wild guess how liberal and hippy I am! Very Happy

More later about Spain. Must go out for a while

New Zealand rocks. Wellington is kind of in the middle, so you can go more or less anywhere in the country pretty quickly. Smile

Egyptian tour sounds good to AYB. AYB has always wanted to study Egyptology and how the ancient Egyptanites may have revered the Mighty AYB. It seems liek a really kewl place.
