i don't think it does check for double posts. it's just got flood protection, so if you accidentally click submit twice, it triggers that, and complains at you.

unfortunately, i've found it's also possible to trigger it with perfectly legitimate posts, and have occasionally double posted due to thinking that that was the case and that i was just posting too fast (which shouldn't, frankly, be possible).

Flood control doesn't care if you've managed to post two separate messages, it just measures how fast you posted twice in a row.

I can turn the flood control down slightly, in the name of smamming, but please don't abuse it.
