Where did they get that sound Windows makes when it starts up?

... and the Apple Computer start up sound.

I forgot to say thanks for the link. I knew about the sounds already but that blog gave me like hours of happy surfing. Cheers.

Yeah, I saw a video of the Vista sound stuff a while ago, but I can't remember who it was... he was playing guitar over some very ambient loops.

Agreed! We'll make a start up jingle for StudlyOS(TM), and because of the wireless nature of StudlyOS, every morning you turn on your computer you hear a new jingle.

BRILLIANT!!! IT'S MONEY IN THE BANK WITH THAT IDEA!!!!

Twinky, lets get cracking and make a toon!

Mr. Fripp is a bit too long-haired-prog-rocker for my general liking, but he did get some notes in on FSOL's Lifeforms album, and played live with them a couple times.

Y'know I couldn't get the November? release to work 100% on my PC so now I'm debating on downloading the December version or wait until February.

I think the Feb/Mar CTP is the one to wait for. A coworker of mine installed the December one and wasn't too impressed. Feb/Mar will be much closer to the final product, or so they say.

Well, the Oct/Nov? release was neat to look at but my graphics card wasn't really recognized (which is a shame because it's top-of-the-line) and my network card was completely lost by it.

I still think it was a good release; i've worked with a lot of beta OS' (hey, I do linux daily) and for a pre-beta it's pretty damned solid.
