Why? Why buy something like this? I've never understood the point of these things... get some more RAM and install it on your motherboard and then set up a RAM disk through windows! Does the OS need to be entirely in RAM? What happens if you pull the plug by accident one day? Reinstall? God forbid the power ever goes out or you have to move....
Ahhhh.... nevermind me. I guess I'm a bit jaded on these "powered" RAM disks due to the fact I battled with APK on the subject on ntcompatible before I managed to get us both banned. |

It's still on a damned SATA 150 bus, so it's essentially useless.
Should have been a PCI-E 16x card...

While perusing the specs of this one I noticed that it had rechargable on-board battery backup. So whilst powering down should not be of any concern, you probably don't want to leave this thing off any longer than than the current battery life of a modern day cell phone or PDA, which disturbingly is maybe a few days to a week max.
